Committees

In addition to the work done by the members of the Association Executive, there is important work performed in a variety of Committees of the Association. Members with an interest in the subject matter of one or more of the committees are welcome to join by  sending an email (please see the "Contact Us" page) to the relevant Committee Chair.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Responsible for the publication of the Association newsletter, "The inFormer" four times per year. The Committee is Chaired by Steve Gilchrist.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Responsible for administering the "School Outreach Program" and liaising with schools, colleges and universities to further the aims and objectives of the Association. The Committee is Chaired by Rosario Marchese.

HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE

Responsible for developing and administering HR functions within the Association staff. The Committee is Chaired by Judy Marsales.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

Responsible for handling all aspects of membership recruitment and retention. This Committee is Chaired by Jim Gordon.

NOMINATION COMMITTEE

Responsible for maintenance of a list of candidates for the Association Executive for each Annual General Meeting. The Committee is Chaired by Steve Gilchrist.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE

Responsible for the planning and execution of the various social functions undertaken by the Association, each year, including the Annual General Meeting, the Christmas Social and the Regional Outreach Meetings held across the province. The Committee is Chaired by Joyce Savoline.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD COMMITTEE

Each year, the Association seeks to recognize the service, outside the Legislature, of those former MPP's who make exemplary comtributions to our society. Past awards have gone to former Premier Bill Dvis, former NDP MPP Stephen Lewis, and a former Leader of the Liberals, Mr. Bob Nixon. Each fall, the Association holds a luncheon, at the Legislature, to honour another deserving former Member. This Committee is Chaired by David Warner.

WEBSITE COMMITTEE

Responsible for the maintenance of the Association website and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the content therein. The Committee is Chaired by Steve Gilchrist.
